Is everything confidential?
Confidentiality is at the heart of my practice and is central to our work together. It begins from your initial enquiry and continues throughout our work together. This is where counselling differs from talking to a friend or relative. There are some rare circumstances where I may need to break it. This could include situations where I believe you or someone else is at serious risk of harm. Any limits to confidentiality will be explained clearly at the start of our work, so you understand what they mean for you.
As a BACP registered counsellor, I adhere to their ethical framework and discuss my work with a qualified supervisor on a regular basis. This process supports and enhances my work, helping me provide the best possible service to my clients. My supervisor also adheres to the guidelines as set out by the BACP so your confidentiality is maintained.
Where will our sessions take place?
In person sessions will take place in a comfortable private space conveniently located in Digbeth, Birmingham. I also offer remote online sessions for people further afield, which have become increasingly popular and offers flexibility when you need it.
How many sessions will I need?
I offer both short term and long term counselling, depending on your individual needs and goals. For some, a few sessions is all that may be needed, while more complex issues may benefit from a longer more open ended approach.
How regular are sessions?
Counselling sessions are usually weekly, in some cases bi-weekly. I do not recommend less frequent then that as it would not allow for continuity and lead to “playing catch-up”
How long are sessions?
Counselling sessions will last 50 minutes.
How much is a session?
£50.00 per 50 minute for individual sessions and £80.00 for couples. Payments are to be made 24 hours in advance of your appointment time.
I offer a free initial 15 minute telephone consultation.
What happens if I can’t attend my session?
If you need to reschedule, just let me know and we can look at alternative times. Please note that I have a 48 hour cancellation policy. Where there is less than 48 hours notice of cancellation, the fee of £50 or £80.00 will be payable in full.
